Sherlene Heng

Sherlene Heng graduated from the University of Western Australia with Law and Commerce degrees and has a Master of Laws (Family Law). She also completed the National Mediator Accreditation training in 2024.
She has practised family law in Perth and Sydney since 2009.
A strong advocate for negotiated settlements, Sherlene strategically pursues swift, respectful resolutions from the outset. Where possible, she aims to maintain relationships through settlement. Sherlene deals with complex financial and trust structures and parenting matters involving family violence, abuse or substances. She sees privilege in working with any client, regardless of complexity.
Driven to identify options for resolution in clients’ difficult situations, Sherlene enjoys connecting with people in an area of law that affects all. Assisting people and disentangling thorny problems gives Sherlene deep satisfaction.
Sherlene’s warm manner facilitates personal connections with clients and opponents alike. She is task-focused, advising clients on options and likely outcomes upfront to guide them through tough choices.

Sherlene is a committee member of the Australian Lawyers Association and a friend of Rotary. She speaks conversational Mandarin.
