Melissa Gordon
Melissa started her career at O’Sullivan Davies Family Lawyers in 2003 after graduating from the University of Notre Dame (WA). After several years as a family lawyer, Melissa decided that she wanted to explore other areas of law and found her passion in wills and estates. Melissa returned to the firm in 2023 with 20 years’ experience in law, 15 of those years specialising in wills and estates.
A natural people-person, Melissa instantly builds a rapport with her clients. Her friendliness helps her clients discuss any awkward situations or problems and she finds solutions in the most efficient way in accordance with the law.
Melissa understands the complexity of family dynamics and her advice to clients is always considered, and with their best interests front and centre.
A stickler for detail and procedure, Melissa ensures that her work will make things easier for the loved ones of her clients when the time inevitably comes. She believes that a will is the most important document a person can ever sign, be it a simple or complex family or financial structure. Her job satisfaction comes when her clients’ work is done, seeing the look of relief on their faces knowing that they have their affairs in order. Melissa also aims to minimise the stress of executors and beneficiaries as they navigate through the legal aspects of administering deceased estates.
Melissa is a senior member of the Succession and Future Planning team and enjoys the collaborative and supportive work environment at O’Sullivan Davies.
Outside of the office, Melissa likes spending time with family and friends, playing tennis and coaching netball.
