Sherlene commenced practice as a family lawyer in Perth and spent a number of years practising in Sydney, before returning to Perth to resume practice in October 2018.
She graduated from the University of Western Australia with a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) (majoring in Financial Accounting and Corporate Finance) and also has a Master of Laws (Family Law) (LLM).
Sherlene is a strong advocate for negotiated settlements, and considers a strategic but respectful approach at the outset to be key in resolving matters. She is also focused on clients remaining as amicable as possible with the other party following a judgment / settlement. She has experience dealing with complex financial matters, including where there are multiple trust and corporate structures, parenting issues where there are allegations of family violence or abuse, or drug and alcohol use, but also considers assisting clients with less complex matters to be a privilege.
Sherlene is a member of Rotary, on the committee of the WA Singapore Business Connect and the Asian Australian Lawyers Association, and volunteers with the Women’s Legal Service WA.
