Bethany is a graduate of the University of Western Australia, with degrees in Law and Commerce. Working in boutique law firms since 2011, she completed a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice in 2015 and was admitted to the Supreme Court of Western Australia and High Court of Australia the same year. She has worked exclusively in family law since 2017.
In her work, Bethany takes an individual approach with every client, understanding that no two situations are the same and that there’s no one-size-fits-all solution. The problem-solving aspect is what she finds most satisfying, which can at times include choosing not to act, often overlooked as a legitimate course of action.
Although experienced in commercial law, Bethany prefers the personal nature of family law where she can help people with her skills and knowledge.
Bethany’s enthusiasm for pushing boundaries, stripping situations down to the essentials, following her intuition and not being afraid of trying something new assists her to charter routes to solutions that others might never have considered.
This applies to her pursuits outside of the office too that range from homebrewing, to motorcycling and ultra-light hiking. Impressively, Bethany’s trekking essentials that can sustain her for three weeks pack down to just six kilograms, including a tent.
Bethany loves to cook yet is not a recipe follower, she is an avid reader and enjoys book club, and discussing published works as well as unpublished manuscripts.
Bethany was recognised as a Rising Star in Doyle’s Guide in 2018 and 2019. She served as an ordinary council member of the Family Law Practitioners’ Association in 2019-2020, and was elected Secretary in 2020-2021.
